Display Settings
Customise how PioneerChat looks and behaves to suit your preferences.
Accessing Settings
- Click Settings in the sidebar (at the bottom)
- Adjust your preferences
- Changes save automatically
Available Settings
Font Size
Adjust the text size for easier reading:

Use the slider to adjust. A live preview shows how text will appear.
Tip: If you find the default text hard to read, try increasing to 18px or 20px. For dense information display, you might prefer 14px.
Show Timestamps
Toggle whether to display the time for each message in conversations.
- On: Shows when each message was sent/received
- Off: Cleaner interface without timestamps (default)
Timestamps are useful if you need to reference when specific information was exchanged.
Auto-Scroll
Controls automatic scrolling during AI responses:
- On: Chat automatically scrolls to show new content as it generates
- Off: You control scrolling manually
You can also toggle this during a conversation using the scroll button that appears while messages are streaming.
Saving Settings
Settings save automatically when you change them. You'll see confirmation:
- "Saving..." - Change is being saved
- "Saved!" - Change has been applied
Settings are stored locally and will persist across sessions on the same browser.
Reset to Defaults
To restore all settings to their original values:
- Go to Settings
- Click Reset to Defaults
- Confirm the reset
This resets font sizes, timestamps, and other display preferences to default values.
Settings Across Devices
Display settings are stored in your browser's local storage. This means:
- Settings are specific to each browser/device
- Using a different computer will use that device's settings
- Clearing browser data will reset settings
If you use PioneerChat on multiple devices, you may need to configure each one separately.
